Strate North’s Manure Based Substrate.
While CVG will get the job done, it lacks a living microbiome. Typical coco coir has been compressed using heat and pressure ultimately killing off any beneficial bacteria leaving your substrate as an empty vessel. Vermiculite’s role is merely to hold hydration and gypsum offers little nutrition for your mycelium and mainly acts as a pH buffer. Strate North is a living substrate. Using only meticulously composted horse manure void of any antibiotics and thriving with beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae, uncompressed coco coir, fine vermiculite, food grade gypsum, and our proprietary blend that is bio-engineered to simulate the mushrooms natural soil, plus a little more.
